Waxing is one of the most effective ways of achieving longer-lasting smoothness and thinner hair regrowth over time. Unlike shaving, which only cuts hair at the surface, waxing removes hair from the root, leaving skin hair-free for up to 3 – 6 weeks.

Hot wax is heated to 52 – 55C, a comfortable temperature for most people. Before waxing, we apply an oil to create a barrier between the skin and the wax, and minimise discomfort. The wax grips to the hair, not the skin, meaning less pain. The more you wax, the easier it is!

Our waxes shrink wrap around the hair as it dries, this enables the hair to be removed from the root, not breaking the hair and leaving the skin smooth with the longest possible regrowth period.

Hot wax is designed to stick only to your body hair and not your  skin; this helps to protect the skin and makes the removal virtually pain free. It is very gentle on the skin, meaning less sensitivity post wax.

Warm wax is also known as strip wax and works on the same principal. It is generally used on larger areas and it removes all of the hair, including fine hairs.

Face – allow up to 10 mins per treatment area (e.g. upper lip) or 20 mins for a full face

Upper body – allow up to 10 mins per treatment area (e.g. underarms) and up to 25 mins for full arms

Lower body – allow up to 30 mins for most treatments

Full body – allow up to 1 hour and 45 mins

Please let our team know if you have any of the following conditions:

• Diabetes
• Epilepsy
• Haemophilia – A contagious skin condition
• Scar tissue that is red and tender to touch
• Sunburns
• Have taken Accutane within the last 6 months
• On any skin treatments for thinning skin or blood
• Any other conditions I should be aware of

It is generally safe to have wax after your first trimester. We also offer Lycon waxes especially for expectant mothers of 7+ months.

We always put hygiene and safe working practices first. Our salons follow strict protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for every client, including:

• Staff wearing appropriate protective gear during treatments.
• Regular sanitation of all surfaces and tools, with increased cleaning frequency throughout the day.
• Providing hand sanitiser upon arrival for clients.
