LOVE this place! I found this beautiful salon just by walking past in Hampstead — and I’m so glad I did! I used to travel all the way into Central London for my waxing appointments, which was so time-consuming. Having LuxWax on my doorstep is such a game changer.
Mel was my therapist and she was absolutely amazing — welcoming, professional, and incredibly skilled. The waxing was practically painless (which I didn’t think was possible!) and the results were incredible. I felt completely comfortable and looked after from start to finish.

I have been using Luxwax for years, initially just for waxing and over the last 18months for laser as well. I cannot rate them highly enough. I have seen various therapists over the time I have been going there and they have all been great. More recently I have been going to Gail and Oxana. I had Mel today for laser and waxing she was excellent as well. They all have such attention to detail, they are efficient but also take it at your pace and check in with you to make sure you’re ok throughout. Not to mention, the results from the laser and waxing have been great. No reactions and lasting results. It is a beautiful salon. Very clean. Fab facilities. I started my permanent hair removal journey with Luxwax 15 months ago. I was unsure whether laser or electrolysis was the right answer for me. I had an exploratory telephone consultation with Gail and was impressed with her level of knowledge, complete honesty and professional specialisation. Gail advised me on pursuing electrolysis as a permanent solution and I can honestly say that I have been very impressed with the results. I was really worried about scarring and other possible skin damage that is generally reported as the downside to electrolysis performed by inexperienced therapists. Thankfully, Gail is so skilled that none of this has been an issue. In addition, Gail is able to confidently and safely work on larger surface areas at a high pace therefore maximising appointment time. Electrolysis does require commitment and consistency - Gail was great at educating me upfront and making sure I understood the practicalities involved - but the results have been totally worth it for me. My only regret is not to have started much much earlier in life!

Booked via Google Maps for Heath Street, but appointment was actually at another location not listed in their system. Had to take a £15, 25-minute Uber after arriving on time. Simona called saying she would leave in 5 minutes despite the mix-up.

When I arrived, she said my hair was too short (just under 1 cm) but rushed through the wax anyway. Then she tried to charge extra for Lycon wax, even though I’d already paid £48 (more than the listed £43 full leg with Lycon).

Only after calling Gail was the charge waived and a credit added. Overall: unclear booking system, and stressful service. Wouldn’t return unless they fix these issues. Given the great reviews of Gail at the Heath street location, I would give this salon one more try and amend the review.

I went to LuxWax for a wax and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Esmeralda was so sweet and welcoming, also made sure I was super comfortable the whole time. A little preparation goes a long way toward achieving the best results from your laser hair removal. Here's what to do before and after each session.

Before Your Appointment

Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your session. The laser needs the hair follicle intact beneath the skin to be effective.

Avoid waxing, plucking, and threading for at least 4 weeks before treatment. These eliminate the follicle that the laser needs to target.

Avoid sun exposure and self-tan for 4 weeks beforehand. Use SPF daily, but not in the 24 hours before your appointment.

Arrive with clean skin. No lotions, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area.

Stay hydrated and avoid saunas, intense exercise, or hot baths right before your session.

After Your Appointment

Refrain from sun exposure and self-tanning for at least 4 weeks after treatment. Use SPF 30+ on any exposed treated areas.

Skip hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, and intense exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours.

Avoid deodorant, perfumed products, and exfoliants on the treated area for 24 to 48 hours.

Shave between sessions if needed, but don’t wax, pluck, or thread. Shaving preserves the follicle for your next treatment.

Mild redness or warmth is completely normal and usually resolves within a few hours. A cool compress or aloe vera gel can help.
